Passionfish Has Captured My Heart

March 21, 2009

Went to Passionfish in the Reston Town Center last night and couldn’t have been more pleased. We didn’t have a place in mind, but figured we’d find something that sounded good – there’s so much there after all. We walked by Passionfish and almost kept walking because from the outside, it does not look like the kind of place you bring a three-year-old. Never-the-less, we read the menu outside (for future reference), but to our surprise they had a nice sounding kids menu, so we decided to take our chances and give it a try. From the moment we walked in, everyone was very pleasent. We got a booth next to the front window and they even brought over a paper kids menu and colors.  I would have never expected a paper menu and colors in there…

I had fish and my husband had scallops. Both of us were happy with our meals, but what was most surprising was that I could have eaten the kids meal of shrimp and french fries that my three-year-old got and been just as happy. It was not your usual dry, afterthought of a kids meal that most places serve. They even had a good selection of yummy kids deserts.

Note: For those not keen on fish, there are several other options that sounded godd too., i.e., steak, chicken, etc.

While the price was not cheap ($90 total for three entrees, a glass of wine and two appetizers), it was well worth it to have a nice night out in a grown up restaurant and not have to pay a babysitter. I definitely recommned Passionfish for a special occasion with the family, or if you just need a night out.
